Mechanical and Sorption Filtration Systems

⚙️ Principle of Operation + Design & Applications

Mechanical filtration is performed by passing water through granular media (sand, anthracite), where particles are retained within the filter bed pores.

Sorption filtration is based on adsorption of impurities on the surface of sorbents (activated carbon, zeolites), enabling removal of organic compounds, odors, and chlorine.

Structurally, the systems are pressure filters consisting of:
• vessel
• filter media
• underdrain and distribution systems
• piping and valves

Applications:
• pre-treatment before RO and ion exchange
• surface and groundwater treatment
• circulating water systems

🧱 Materials and Design

Equipment is manufactured from corrosion-resistant materials:

• carbon steel with anti-corrosion coating
• stainless steel
• polymer materials (PP, PVC)

The type and composition of filter media are selected depending on water quality and treatment requirements.

📊 Technical Specifications

Technical specifications depend on operating conditions and water parameters.

Main parameters:
• capacity — project-specific
• operating pressure — 0.2–0.6 MPa
• temperature — up to 40 °C
• media type — sand, anthracite, activated carbon
