Screw Drum Screen

🔄 Principle of Operation

Wastewater enters a rotating drum where solids are retained on the screen surface.

A screw conveyor inside the drum transports the retained solids to a compaction zone, where they are compressed and partially dewatered.

Clarified water passes through the drum openings and flows downstream.

🏗 Design

The unit is designed as a compact system and includes:

• perforated or wedge-wire drum
• screw conveyor (often shaftless)
• compaction (press) zone
• drive system for rotation and conveying
• housing or channel installation

Enclosed versions are available to reduce odors and improve hygiene.

📊 Technical Specifications and Applications

Main parameters:

• capacity — from tens to hundreds m³/h
• screen opening — 0.25–6 mm
• material — stainless steel
• automatic operation
• waste volume reduction up to 50–70%

Applications: • wastewater treatment plants
• industrial facilities
• food processing industry
• pumping stations

👉 Key advantage — combined screening, conveying, and dewatering in a single unit.
